Thomas Amburgey Is a former prosecutor, and board-certified specialist in state criminal law. As an assistant District Attorney for Buncombe County, he handled thousands of cases, ranging from speeding tickets to first degree murder. That immeasurable experience gives him an advantage in the courtroom.

Elizabeth Kellogg is the Legal Assistant for Amburgey Law, P.A., case manager and administrator. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Asheville with a major in Literature Creative Writing and a minor in Dance. Her interests in writing, background in education, and helping others in the community led her into the legal profession. Elizabeth also studied education at UNCA, enhancing her organizational, technological, and communication skills.

During her time at Amburgey Law, Elizabeth has excelled at assisting in legal matters, managing a law office, supporting excellent client relations, and excelling in multitasking. As is the case with most criminal attorneys, Thomas relies on Elizabeth to ensure your case moves smoothly through the justice system. She has been a part of Thomas’ team since January 2016.

Originally from Key West, Florida, Elizabeth has lived in Asheville since 2010. Outside of the office, she enjoys teaching dance, social dancing, writing, hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, sewing, creating music videos, art, music, and many other wonderful things Asheville has to offer.
